I dye various types of silk fabrics, which have different weights and sheens, using shibori or a bamboo-resist method that I developed. Each piece has been dyed and overdyed, sometimes bleached and re-dyed, resulting in layers of color and pattern, which creates a depth of color and luminosity. The strips of silk are sewn together and stretched over a deep frame and the fabric wraps around to the back of the piece, creating a very clean presentation.

Two new pieces, “Wind and Rain” and “Windows” are Japanese colored paste resist on silk fabric. This is an ancient technique used to print kimono fabric, now adapted and revised. Colors and imagery are incredibly vivid.

Consider a unique piece of fiber art which will add warmth and good energy to your environment.
